Feedback

“Despite there being no ‘consequences’ if patients choose not to attend/engage with the school, they have excellent attendance. Even the most poorly patients on the PICU ward will decide to attend school and engage with their lessons- a clear indicator of how much the young people value the school and its staff, as well as how well supported they feel to continue with their education despite being unwell.”Lived in Experience Network, February 2024

“It was a pleasure to see the incredible work done by all staff members at the Phoenix School. Their empathy and compassion for each young person is evident and shown by their holistic approach to both education and mental health care. The education provided to patients at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield not only aims to ensure they remain up-to-date with peers in mainstream schools, but also to give each young person a purpose and an escape from the difficulties they may be facing on the ward.”Lived in Experience Network, February 2024

“We are grateful to Education, our daughter got through the resits and the team organised her a college course which has given her purpose and structure which she will take step by step. Her special needs were discussed between Phoenix School and the college and the ward rounds which ensured the developmental reports could be passed on to her new college.” Parent, March 2023

“I’m feeling really supported with my resits and am enjoying education a lot – thanks!”Student, September 2022

“I feel well supported with discharge planning back to my community school.”Student, September 2022
