Gender: Mixed Beds: 55 Cygnet Hospital Sheffield offers a low secure service for women and CAMHS services for male and female adolescents over three distinct wards. Within the adult service, women are supported by a full multi-disciplinary team who are focused on helping service users regain independence, maintain family links and prepare for discharge. There is a focus on community access, therapy and meaningful activity and offering a warm and welcoming environment for the delivery of support and care. In the separate and distinct CAMHS services at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, young people may be admitted to either our PICU or general CAMHS ward depending on their individual needs. All young people are supported by a full multi-disciplinary team alongside the therapy and education departments. Cygnet Hospital Sheffield is a purpose-built, therapeutic environment close to the city centre of Sheffield with a focus on supporting individuals to move along their care pathway towards independent living. Everyone has access to a range of social, therapeutic and activity spaces including classrooms, artrooms and gyms, teaching kitchens and gardens. It is a spacious and vibrant service providing positive and effective care with close links to local colleges and employers. 4th April 2022 Cygnet quiz raises £3,850 for Ukraine On 25th March, Kerry Booth, Head Occupational Therapist, and Abigail Roberts, Occupational Therapist, at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield hosted two virtual quizzes to support the people and animals of Ukraine. A grand total of £3850 was raised which will be split between two charities; Red Cross Disasters Emergency Committee and Ugolyok.
9th March 2022 Cygnet’s Head of Education to run across the Sahara for charity Cygnet's Head of Education, Ed Hall, is preparing to compete in the Marathon Des Sables, a 150 mile foot race across the Sahara desert, to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
2nd March 2022 Spencer Ward celebrates LGBTQ+ History Month Service users at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield's Spencer Ward celebrated LGBTQ+ History month with an event at the end of February. Activities included a group reflection on 'being yourself' and a LGBTQ+ general knowledge quiz followed by a music quiz which featured songs by LGBTQ+ artists and icons.
