Old Leigh House pay respects for Sir David Amess

Old Leigh House residents went to pay their respects, lay flowers and write in the book of condolences in honour of their late MP, Sir David Amess.

Sibusiso (Busi) Mudimbu, Service Manager, said:

“Sir David Amess has been a great person in our community. He did a lot to change our community and he had so much love for people with learning disabilities.

Residents and staff at Old Leigh House are very sad with his tragic passing. He leaves a great legacy at Old Leigh House and Southend at large. Southend is now declared a city in his honour and we shall celebrate his life that way.

Sir David will be greatly missed by many as he has been a very active MP and he wanted the best to happen in our community.”
