Lord Patel visits Cygnet Hospital Bierley
Being local to Cygnet Hospital Bierley, Lord Patel recently visited the hospital to say thank you to staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the pandemic.
Whilst on his visit he met with Steve Brotherhood, CTL on Denholme Ward, who joined Bierley for 3 weeks back in 2009 and has been with us ever since! Lord Patel also met other members of staff including Muzz Ali, a HCSW, who covered multiple shifts across all the wards at Bierley at the height of lockdown.
The teamwork across the hospital was great to see and Lord Patel was particularly impressed by the Wobble Room which he felt was a really important initiative to support staff. Clinical Manager, Hannah Sidhu and Bowling Ward Manager, Lauren Watson, set up the Wobble Room and introduced ‘Oscar’ the wobble room mascot!
