Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital and Cygnet Hospital Sheffield Cycle-a-thon!

Last week, young people and staff members from Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital and Cygnet Hospital Sheffield came together to raise money for Children in Need through a variety of activities. One of these was a Cycle-a-Thon, each hospital agreed that they would put together a team of volunteers to cycle 85 miles on each site (the distance between the 2 hospitals), in order to raise money for charity. Each hospital had a team made up of young people and staff members, who were allocated a time slot to come and contribute to the mileage in the on-site gyms so that everyone could take part.

Both sites managed to achieve their target mileage and raised lots of money for Children in Need – everyone who took part finished the day fitter and feeling great! Kelvin Mcardle, Activity Co-ordinator, said:
‘it was really great to work alongside one of our other CAMHS hospitals to raise money for Children in Need. Everyone involved across the day showed the spirit of team work and there was a sense that we were all working together to reach a common goal. The young people really loved it and exceeded expectations!’
