Cygnet Acer Clinic celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival

Cygnet Acer Clinic have held celebrations for the ‘Chinese Moon Festival’ (Mid-Autumn Festival). This is a traditional Chinese festival celebrated by East and Southeast Asian countries to worship the moon and celebrate the harvest.

These celebrations are part of Acer’s Equality & Diversity Initiative; during which they are celebrating one Equality and Diversity event a month; so far the service users and staff have held events for EID and Women’s Equality Day. Pictured is our Equality & Diversity board featuring service user’s artwork which they have completed to signify what diversity and inclusion means to them.

As part of the Chinese Moon festivities both service users and staff wore red and gold; the service user’s partook in Chinese lantern making and making fried bananas and spring rolls and everyone enjoyed a Chinese themed menu. During the evening, there was a movie night and everyone watched “Over the Moon”; an animated film about the Moon Festival.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this day fun for all!
