Celebrating Holi at Cygnet Manor

Last week service users and staff at Cygnet Manor celebrated the Hindu festival of Holi. Service users decorated full moon images due to this festival being celebrated on the day after the full moon in March. There were colouring pages available within the art group and Indian flags to decorate. The service users also created collages of bonfire images, as during this festival Holika Dahan is performed, a ritual of burning evil spirits on the bonfire. They then created a large splatter painting, which also included colourful handprints, which fit with the festival involving people throwing colourful powder and water. Everyone also enjoyed the festival food and drinks.
