Low Secure Complex Needs
This service provides a longer term care and treatment for male patients with dual or multiple diagnosis. Patients typically may:
- Be detained under a section of the Mental Health Act 1983
- Present with challenging or offending behaviours
- Also require detoxification or counselling for substance misuse as well as treatment for psychiatric illness
We aim to monitor, manage and reduce risk, balancing therapy and security while supporting the client to reclaim the independence and identity they may have lost through years of hospitalisation.
Once a client has been accepted, a comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment will be completed. Our MDT includes a comprehensive Therapeutic Activity Team together they provide a detailed personal care and management structure programme based on individual and group therapy.
An assessment visit can be arranged quickly with a simple phone call 24 hours a day either directly to the hospital, with our downloadable referral forms or through our central service. Referrers will be notified of decisions within 48 hours.
