Adolescents
Our Young Persons Unit offers a variety of evidence-based interventions for patients suffering from a wide range of acute mental health problems.
We accept patients from 12-18 years of age, of both sexes as well as informal and detained patients. Each patient will have their own single room in a comfortable and safe environment with access to a wide range of other amenities and therapeutic services.
While pre-planned admissions are desirable to allow for a full multi-disciplinary assessment, emergency admissions are also considered. Our specialist multi disciplinary team is comprised of:
- Consultant Psychiatrist
- Trained nurses
- Teachers
- Therapists
- Psychologists
- Social workers
- Support workers
Our package of care includes:
- Family therapy –involvement of family and carers
- Group and individual therapy programmes – integrative model, CBT & DBT
- Education and activity programmes
- Input from other dedicated teams in dual diagnosis cases eg: eating disorders or addictive behaviour
- Invitation to all clinical agencies involved to attend CPA reviews after admission
- Minimising length of stay and maximising best outcomes by establishing links to CAMHS teams and other agencies
- Optional after care group post treatment to suit
- Regular treatment summary and communication with referrer
- Full reports and discharge summary
