Bronte Ward
Service & Objectives
Our female complex care ward provides care and treatment within a low secure environment for female service users over 18 years of age. These service users present difficult and challenging behaviours which may not be safely managed in an open environment.
Who is appropriate?
- Females aged 18+
- Dangerous behaviour and/or chronic challenging behaviour
- Service users who represent a persistent risk of absconding to avoid treatment, where subsequent relapse carries a risk of dangerous behaviour
- Service users with an intractable mental state and behavioural problems
- Service users who present with a dual or multiple diagnosis and who present with an intractable mental state and behaviour problems which could include substance misuse. The primary diagnosis will be mental illness.
- Those who fail to progress in an open acute ward and may benefit from a stay in a low secure environment.
