Care Quality Commission Reports
We are proud of the service we provide and invite you to have a look at our most recent inspection from the Healthcare Commission which can now be found on the Care Quality Commission website: View Report.
Making a Referral
We take referrals for intensive care by telephone consultation, 24-hours a day and make a prompt decision on admission to ensure the service user receives treatment as quickly as possible.
Referrals for low secure services can be made by letter with a current risk assessment and a recent Care Programme Approach (CPA) report to the Clinical Manager who ensures prompt assessment by a senior nurse and a doctor.
Alternatively you can download and complete a referral form.
Admission, if appropriate, may be agreed within a week of assessment. At the time of admission, if available, an up-to-date social worker's report is also required.
For more information on making a referral please visit our Information for Referrers page.
Discharge
Our goal is to ensure we care for all our service users so they are well enough to leave us as quickly as possible. Therefore, from the time of admission, our staff are already planning for their discharge by preparing Care Plans and assessments. Some service users are transferred back to their local NHS hospital if a bed becomes available. Others may remain at Cygnet until they can be discharged home with appropriate follow-up in their home area.
