Service & Objectives
Peplau Ward is a 15-bed ward providing a medium secure environment for the assessment and / or treatment of adult males over the age of eighteen.
Treatment Programme
The care programme provided is a dynamic process which is comprehensive and co-ordinated to meet the changing needs of the patient group. There is an overarching group programme which is aimed at maintaining patient interaction and patient to staff interactions. Tailored plans of care sit within this timetable, allowing for specific needs to be met.
Making a referral
With our experienced team and specifically designed environment, Peplau Ward is able to accept emergency referrals. A decision on these emergency referrals can be made within 4 hours of initial referral.
We are also prepared to travel to where the patient is located and transport the patient back to our hospital, if necessary.
We accept referrals on a pre-planned as well as on an emergency basis. When assessments are required, we endeavour to complete the assessment within 48 hours of referral, and the referring hospital/prison will receive notification of whether the patient has been accepted for admission within 24 hours of assessment.
