We are a 20 bed male community step-down facility who believe that recovery should be a process of positive experiences that allow individual patients to achieve their best possible clinical and social outcomes. We accept referrals from Low Secure services and admit both detained and informal patients and those with forensic histories.
Using a whole system's approach to recovery, Cygnet Lodge Lewisham seeks to maximise the individual's quality of life and social inclusion. This is carried out through the provision of extensive therapy that encourages daily living skills and promotes independence in a homely but controlled access environment. We bridge the gap between hospital and independent community living and reduce the possibility of the 'revolving door' syndrome by community re-integration following thorough risk assessment.

- Central location that has excellent links with the local social environment whilst also set in peaceful cul-de-sac surroundings overlooking a park

- Robust individually tailor-made rehabilitation programmes across a broad spectrum of specific needs
- A purpose built therapy suite that is separate to patients' living accommodation
- Written weekly clinical updates to referrers and care co-ordinators at the initial stages of admission then fortnightly thereafter depending on each patient's progress
- An initial Care Programme Approach (CPA) meeting six to eight weeks from the admission date then quarterly thereafter
- Day and overnight familiarisation visits for patients prior to admission
- Linked to our sister unit, Cygnet Wing Blackheath; we are able to offer short term contingency placements to low secure and PICU to manage risk where necessary
- 24hr active RMN cover

Referral Pathway
- Referrals can be made 24hrs a day by telephone, email or completing a referral form and faxing it to 020 8314 5271
- Assessments will be made within 48hrs of referral
- Decision and written report within a week of assessment

Open Days
