Do you maintain contact with referrers during an admission?
Contact is maintained with referrers by either a weekly or monthly report.
How do I refer?
To make a referral, call Cygnet Hospital Harrow switchboard on 020 8966 7000 and ask either for the Hospital Manager or the Administrator of the Springs Services.
Alternatively you can complete a referral form and fax it to 020 8423 7964.
Is there a cost for the assessment?
There is no cost for the assessment.
What happens next?
Once a referral is taken (details) a date is arranged to carry out an assessment.
What is the assessment process?
The assessment process is undertaken by members of the multi-disciplinary team, consisting of medical, nursing, and occupational therapy. Following assessment a detailed and comprehensive report and recommendations is sent back to the referrer.
What is the average length of stay?
The average length of stay is dependent on the individual needs.
For The Springs Unit - a Low Secure Rehabilitation Service – individuals may be here for 18 months to 2 years. There will be a small sub-set of this group who are likely to need longer time in service user rehabilitation.
Where do service users go after they have been at Cygnet Hospital Harrow Springs Unit?
Cygnet Hospital Harrow & The Springs Unit are developing a further five bed step-down facility for clients.
In addition the Multidisciplinary Team, in conjunction with Care Co-ordinators, will further source other suitable placements as part of the client’s pathway.
Would it be possible to arrange a visit to the unit?
