Eating Disorders
The specialist eating disorders unit provides treatment in a friendly, pleasant and caring environment. We treat those suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other atypical eating disorders.
Service & Objectives
At the Cygnet Hospital Harrogate Eating Disorders Unit (EDU), we offer specialised psychological treatment for patients of both sexes with eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or other atypical eating disorders. Initial emphasis is on improving physical health and safely restoring normal weight and eating patterns.
Who is appropriate/Admission Criteria?
Admission for addiction services is dependent on physical and psychological assessment. You can contact us via Cygnet Central. Treatment Programme
We offer a ten week programme which runs through three stages.
Stage 1 – Two week assessment
Stage 2 - Four week continued assessment with the introduction of group work and 1:1 work.
Stage 3 - Four weeks continued group working and 1:1 work more in depth. In this stage individual will make no decisions as to their dietary intake.
Making a Referral
Enquiries are welcomed from individuals.
We require a written referral from your GP / Consultant prior to your assessment appointment.
