Our 19 bedded open acute unit can take both male and female patients. A full service is available with the facility for 24 hour admission by arrangement.
Service & Objectives
Cygnet Hospital Harrogate has several Consultant Psychiatrists offering specialist expertise in all areas of Mental Health. Some work full time in the independent sector and some combine their work in Harrogate with their NHS posts.
As a service registered and regulated by the Healthcare Commission our service objectives are to work with our NHS partners to ensure continuity of care in planned patient journeys and care pathways.
Who is appropriate/Admission Criteria?
Cygnet Hospital Harrogate can accept both informal patients and patients detained under the Mental Health Act. All patients are nursed in our open ward
Treatment Programme
We offer an individual treatment programme according to the needs of the patient following assessment by their consultant psychiatrist and nursing team.
Making a Referral
You can contact us via Cygnet Central, Cygnet Health Care’s bed booking service on 0845 0704170 or by emailing cygnetcentral@cygnethealth.co.uk. Alternatively, contact the hospital directly on 01423 500599 and ask for Haven Ward.
Our nursing team will contact our on call Consultant Psychiatrist to discuss the referral on receipt of an up to date risk assessment. The Consultant Psychiatrist will make a decision as soon as possible. Appropriate funding must in place before the patient can be accepted. Referrals can be accepted across the 24 hour continuum and we will do all we can to facilitate the admission.
