Established in 2005, the hospital is a modern, purpose built facility constructed to low secure specifications and conveniently located in a quiet suburb of Bradford, just minutes from the M62 and other major transport links.
With 61 en-suite bedrooms across four individual, gender specific wards, we offer exemplary standards of care and extensive patient facilities in an attractive and well maintained therapeutic environment.

High staffing levels, a wealth of experience and close working relationships with other Cygnet units within West Yorkshire, ensure that we are able to facilitate the complete care pathway from low secure, to open acute and onward to intensive community rehabilitation.

We operate an open invitation to funders, commissioners, care co-ordinators and other professionals associated with the patients placed at Cygnet Hospital Bierley. At the same time, for those who have not had prior involvement with Bierley, but would simply like to know more, we are more than happy to provide a tour of the premises, introduce our staff and demonstrate the services we provide.

Making a Referral
We take referrals for intensive care and acute services by telephone consultation, 24 hours a day, making a prompt decision on admission to ensure the patient receives treatment as quickly as possible.
Referrals for low secure and personality disorder services can be initiated by phoning the relevant ward but then need to be followed up in writing, along with a current risk assessment and recent Care Programme Approach (CPA) report. From that, we can arrange for our staff to come and provide a free and comprehensive assessment regarding suitability for admission.
