Female Intensive Care - Hooper
Female PICU - 15 beds (Hooper ward)
Service & Objectives
Hooper Ward is our 15 bed care ward providing intensive care for acutely disturbed female clients age 18 and over, including clients from within the criminal justice system. The ward accepts forensic and non-forensic clients who are acutely disturbed and detained under Mental Health legislation.
Our objective is to achieve rapid stabilisation of the client's mental and behavioural state with the aim of returning the client to an acute setting. We offer a holistic package of care including assessment, treatment and evaluation in a safe, controlled environment. This is achieved through medical intervention, individual and group therapies with skilled and experienced staff from a variety of specialities.
