Day Therapy Services
Cygnet Hospital Harrow offers a range of day therapy services, providing help and support for various emotional and psychological issues. Many people access our facilities to help deal with concerns such as stress management, developing self esteem and coping with bereavement. They can also be particularly useful for those suffering from mild to moderate depression, anxiety disorders (including post traumatic stress) and addictive behaviour.
We provide a confidential and therapeutic environment in which your needs can be met through tailor made programmes. We aim to be as flexible as possible so as to work around your lifestyle and make our services available to all.
Therapies can be accessed as a service in their own right or utilised as a stepping stone during the transition from in patient to out patient care. The programme timetable is varied slightly each week and operates Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Attendance is on a half day or full day basis, lunch is included and you are always welcome to take advantage of the beautiful grounds in which Cygnet Hospital Harrow is set.
Group therapy includes:
- Cognitive behavioural therapy
- Psychotherapy
- Stress management
- Assertiveness
- Anger management
- Yoga
- Chi Kung
- Access to a gymnasium
- Creative activities
- Relaxation techniques.
Individual Sessions
As a day patient, your care plan is reviewed on a weekly basis with one of the team. This also provides you with the opportunity to discuss issues which you may regard as being too personal to talk about in the context of a group.
Referrals and Free Assessment
Prior to accessing our programme, you will be assessed in order to determine how best you may benefit from the service. Generally, referral for assessment is made by a GP or one of our psychiatrists but individuals may also refer themselves.
