Mental health services are treating more and more young people suffering from psychological and emotional problems. Pressures from family, school, exams and peers, combined with the social need for achievement and success at all costs, create a hazardous environment to a teenager’s well-being.
We offer treatment for a variety of mental health problems for young people including stress related illnesses and emotional disorders such as addiction treatment and eating disorders.
We recommend an initial consultation with our specialist consultant to discuss the main issues and decide together how to proceed. In most cases you will be referred to us by your GP however if you do not have a referral letter we can still help.
Our aim is to teach young people how to manage their emotional health and well being more effectively.
Treatment
Our specialist treatment programme is designed to provide a structured, consistent approach combining therapeutic interventions proven to benefit adolescents. Click here to see a typical weekly programme.
Our facilities are designed exclusively for the use of young patients and are separate from other parts of the hospital. We have 12 en-suite bedrooms, a classroom and outdoor sports facility including basketball court.
We provide education services on site and our teachers will liaise with the young person’s school or college so they are able to follow the National Curriculum within the constraints of their illness.
Our dedicated Young Persons team comprises of a consultant psychiatrist, registered mental health nurses, registered children’s nurses, family therapist, psychologists, psychotherapists, teacher and health care assistants.
