Our Addictions Therapy Team offers a full range of treatments for all addictions for patients from the age of 12 years (in conjunction with our Young Persons Unit).
In Patient Addictions Treatment Programme
We work with an integrative model of therapy using the Twelve Step (Minnesota Model) as a base. The programme includes group therapy, lectures, audio visual aides, written assignments and family involvement.
We recognise that families are also affected by the person who has an addiction and our programme is specially designed to include the family in the therapeutic process. We achieve this by offering Family Sessions where the patient and members of their family meet with a therapist to look at issues relevant to that patient's recovery. These sessions are highly encouraged but will only take place with the permission of the patient.
There is also a Family Support Group. In meeting and sharing with members of other families in a safe and confidential setting, alternative healthier coping skills can be discovered which help to ease adjustment to the changes involved in living with a person recovering from an addiction.
Detoxification Service
We also offer a detoxification service either on it’s own or in conjunction with our Addictions Treatment Programme where people can detox in safety in one of our single occupancy ensuite bedrooms with 24 hour nursing care. Please call us for further information.
