Accessing Treatment
We specialise in treating a wide range of psychiatric problems such as stress, depression, alcohol problems, addictions, anxiety and phobias.
Appointments
We can arrange outpatient appointments to see an available consultant or appropriate specialist within 24 hours, sooner if it is an emergency.
In addition to our four hospitals in Ealing, Kent, Harrogate and Middlesex, our Consultants practice from a number of other outpatient clinics – so you shouldn’t have to travel far to be seen.
Your first consultation
Your initial assessment will be made by one of our specialist consultants or therapists. Your follow-up treatment will then be undertaken either by the same specialist consultant or by one or more of our trained therapists.
At the first consultation, we will conduct a thorough assessment, which will include taking a history of your problem and any relevant medical history. Details of previous treatments may also be taken.
During the consultation, we will discuss your treatment options and advise you on the most appropriate course of treatment dependent on your circumstances, problems and needs.
Confidentiality
Your utmost privacy is ensured throughout your treatment with us.
It is advisable to involve your GP as he/she is a coordinator of your medical treatment and we may, in due course, require a referral letter from your GP. If you are worried about what to say to your GP or how to say it, we can talk you through and assist you with the process if required.
Fees
We are recognised by all the major health insurance companies. If you are not covered by any private medical health insurance, we accept payment by cash, cheque or credit card.
If you have private medical insurance, this may pay your treatment costs if you meet the funding criteria. We can assist in accessing your cover.
Length and type of treatment
The vast majority of people who come to us are treated on an Out-Patient basis (they come to us for set appointments with their Consultant or Therapist). Typically, individuals can be successfully treated with between 6 – 10 one-hour sessions. The length of treatment will always depend on the severity of the problem.
Individuals can also be seen as Day-Patients (they attend on certain days for either a full day or half day treatment).
In some cases individuals may require or prefer a 2, 3 or 4 week stay as an in-patient, after which they will progress to day-patient or out-patients.
