Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is the use of activities to maximize a person’s ability to function independently, enhance development and prevent disease.

An Occupational Therapist chooses activities that help the patient learn to engage in and cope with daily life. These could include time management skills, budgeting, shopping, homemaking and the use of public transportation.

Occupational therapists may also work with individuals who are dealing with alcoholism or drug abuse, depression, eating disorders or stress-related disorders. Their goal is to help clients have independent, productive and satisfying lives.
