Using art and play media, the therapist helps children to explore their experiences and gain greater resilience through metaphor and narrative. The therapist and child use sand tray work, puppets, clay work and other media to explore feelings, and work through painful and distressing experiences. Children learn about feelings and increase their emotional literacy. On a wider level, therapy links to Social, Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL), and the Governments Every Child Matters ethos.
