At Cygnet Hospital Stevenage, the following visiting arrangements apply:
When looking to visit a family member or friend at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage we would encourage that you provide us with as much notice as possible (a minimum of 24 hours) to ensure that we can arrange one of our visitor rooms and a suitable member of staff.
Week day visits (Monday to Friday) are restricted to ensure that Service Users are available to engage in therapeutic activities on the ward.
Visiting times are as follows:
Please note that visits during these times are subject to staff and room availability.
If a child wishes to visit the hospital then we would require at least 1 to 2 weeks notice to ensure that all the required social services checks and permissions can be obtained. Please note that until the hospital has undertaken these checks the visit cannot take place.
On arrival to Cygnet Hospital Stevenage you will be greeted by one of the reception staff who will then ask you to sign in as a visitor.
We reserve the right to search visitors if we believe that they may be bringing inappropriate things in with them.
Certain items, such as alcohol, medicines and sharp items may not be brought into the hospital. On arrival, you will be asked if you are carrying such items and, if so, you will be requested to leave them in your car or at reception.
Please see a list below identifying all contraband items:
This list is not exhaustive. Items other than those listed above that are brought into the Hospital may be assessed as being potentially compromising to the security of the Hospital or to the safety of staff and patients. In instances such as this, these items will be removed by Hospital staff and stored in lockers for the duration of the visit.
