Cygnet Lodge Lewisham provides a homely but controlled access environment that bridges the gap between a hospital and independent community living. Our recovery philosophy allows individuals to take a leading role in how they want to progress their path to independence.

Cygnet Lodge Lewisham is part of our integrated male care pathway of services that includes, if required, short-term placements to the low secure or psychiatric intensive care unit at our sister hospital Cygnet Wing Blackheath. Where appropriate we also work closely with Cygnet Supported Living to secure access to supported accommodation for service users.
We aim to give service users the extensive therapy they need, in a safe, homely setting, where they can also learn daily living skills and gain in independence, while providing the fall back of round the clock access to qualified staff. We accept referrals from low secure services and admit both detained and informal service users, and those with forensic histories.
Our full time therapists offer an excellent range of therapies to reduce the risk of relapse, and we develop tailor-made rehabilitation programmes across a broad spectrum of needs.
We believe recovery should consist of a series of positive experiences that allow people to achieve the best possible social and clinical outcomes. We are also conscious of avoiding the revolving door syndrome, where service users are discharged and then readmitted shortly after and we believe effective risk assessment, followed by community reintegration, is essential.
The hospital is situated in a peaceful cul-de-sac, overlooking a park, with access to numerous resources in the local area as well as in Greater London.
