The Lodge offers a vital, value for money, step down from Low Secure, representing the final stage of the male pathway before moving into independent living in the community. The Lodge is part of an integrated care pathway at Kewstoke, allowing service users to move gradually from our low secure wards to a less restrictive environment. In addition the service at the Lodge is appropriate for men in acute adult inpatient wards and PICUs who require a longer stay in hospital but in a less restrictive environment.

Service users within the Lodge whave access facilities within the main Hospital, such as the fully equipped gym, and may also continue with or start therapeutic programmes such as DBT.
The building itself is newly refurbished and situated within the grounds of the existing Hospital, at the top of a hill, with stunning views across the Bristol Channel towards the Welsh coastline. There is plenty of space within the house for therapeutic activity, but as the majority of service users are working towards independent living, most of their activities are community-based.
The Lodge is not a home for life but a recovery based rehabilitation service aimed at fulfilling service users' potential for independent living.
