Redhill Ward - Low Secure Complex Needs

Redhill Ward forms part of the vital early stages of a male care pathway to recovery. The ward offers excellent value for money care for challenging males with complex needs. Our objective is to enable service users to move on to mainstream rehabilitation services. Redhill Ward is a part of our integrated care pathway of male services at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke.


Treatment Programme

Treatment is individually tailored to each service user with an emphasis on maximising individual skills and enhancing quality of life. Interventions and therapies are based on different psychological models of development, behaviour and mental health.

Individual and group work can include:

  • Drug and Alcohol
  • Anxiety management
  • Anger management
  • Self-esteem building
  • Problem solving
  • Personal care
  • Health education
  • Social skills training
  • Relaxation
  • Relapse prevention
  • Quality of life issues

Admission Criteria

We accept referrals from both the criminal justice system, PCT’s, medium secure hospitals and the NHS with the following admission criteria:

  • Service users who are detained under a treatment order of the Mental Health Act or Court Order
  • Service users must be over 18 years of age
  • Service users who present with a dual or multiple diagnosis
  • Service users who present with challenging behaviour or who have had multiple relapses in the past
  • Those who fail to progress in PICU may benefit from such a placement
