Consultants with Practising Privileges

'Consultant Psychiatrists are physicians who specialise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. Psychiatrists can prescribe medication, which psychologists cannot do.'

Our Consultant Psychiatrists are experts in treating individuals with an extensive range of mental health conditions including those with a multiple or dual diagnosis. They will be the lead member through your care pathway here at our hospital, by undertaking your initial consultation and reviewing regularly your treatment and progress.

All of our Consultants:

• Have undergone extensive training in the specialist subjects they cover
• Are fully insured and registered with the GMC
• Are engaged in continuing professional development
• Undergo enhanced CRB checks
• Undergo annual appraisals
