Cygnet Hospital Derby welcomes students from all disciplines and aims to give the highest quality of clinical placements possible. We were audited and approved for student placements by Nottingham University in November 2010. We are also an approved practice status placement for the GMC.
All students are welcome to visit prior to beginning their placement and are given a Safety and Security Induction by either the Hospital or Clinical Manager prior to going into the care environment. Attendance by students at management meetings and Clinical Governance meetings is encouraged to give the student a broader understanding of how a modern in-patient unit functions.
