Alvaston Ward provides treatment for women who suffer from Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. Treatment is based on Schema and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) approaches, as well as other models of care where appropriate. The emphasis on Alvaston Ward is one of treatment, recovery and rehabilitation.

The Multi-Disciplinary Team on Alvaston Ward are committed to ensuring the highest quality of care provision. Each service user's care package is individualised and is based on a detailed assessment of needs implemented in co-operation with the service user, their significant others and their local care team. All members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team and ward staff are trained in both Schema Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
Treatment is aimed at the following groups:
