Information for Service Users

Welcome Guide

We understand that for some people coming into hospital can be a confusing and stressful experience. At Cygnet Lodge Brighouse we want your admission to be as straightforward and stress free as possible. To help with this we have worked with our service users to produce a Welcome Guide which will explain about life at Cygnet Lodge Brighouse. The Welcome Guide is designed to give you a high level view of life at Cygnet Lodge Brighouse.

Service User Involvement

The government's New Horizons strategy promotes and encourages greater involvement and empowerment of service users in their own care. New Horizons asserts that individuals want to be listened to and heard via structured service user involvement in all levels of decision making. In order to include service users more actively in their own care we have a Service User Involvement Strategy.

Service User Newsletter

In conjunction with Cygnet Lodge Brighouse we produce a regular newsletter which features direct input from our service users.

Service User Projects

We want to celebrate and showcase the activities of our service users, whether it be in participating in group projects, individual artistic endeavours or even getting involved in wider hospital activities. The following are jsut a few examples of the activities and projects our service users have participated in.

  • Service User Artwork: The creative process involved in making art can, on a basic level, be healing and life-enhancing. We've created a slideshow that displays some recent paintings by our service users.
