Cygnet Lodge is an intensive community rehabilitation unit providing patient centred support and therapy, in a relaxed homely environment. Our close proximity to Cygnet Hospital Wyke and Cygnet Hospital Bierley enables us to work closely with them to provide a care pathway for service users who are able to step down from these hospitals.
We accept service users from all over the UK from a variety of different placements. We utilise the evidence based Recovery Model to help treatment resistant service users and service users with enduring mental illness with the aim of moving them to a less secure environment. We are also developing close links with our sister company, Cygnet Supported Living, to also provide supported living options upon discharge, if required.
If a service user at Brighouse temporarily needs a more secure environment we are able to utilise the services available at Wyke and Bierley.
We provide segregated male and female accommodation, with en suite bedrooms on single sex floors and spacious activity areas and gardens.
While we work to increase each person’s independence, we also provide close supervision at all times to ensure our service users' safety and well-being. We provide a supportive rehabilitation environment which enables service users to work collaboratively with professionals to achieve their full potential for recovery and well-being. Our ultimate aim is to help our service users to move on with their lives and regain their place in the community.
At Cygnet Lodge Brighouse we understand that service users view smoking as one of life’s few pleasures and that it’s an important part of their lives. This is why smoking is still permitted in designated outside areas at Cygnet Lodge Brighouse.
At the same time nursing and medical staff also promote and facilitate smoking cessation sessions for all service users to help them quit smoking if they wish to.
Situated in Brighouse we are ideally situated for easy access to the surrounding cities of Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Leeds and to the M62 and M1.
Cygnet Lodge Brighouse is AIMS accredited with the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The AIMS (Accreditation of Inpatient Mental Health Services) Rehab pilot project is a national project developed to ensure best practice is being achieved in in-patient mental health services. Cygnet Lodge Brighouse is one of only two independent sector services to achieve AIMS accreditation. Read more about the AIMS project>>.
