Tyler Ward:
Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

Tyler Ward provides a high standard of care, including a wide range of therapeutic options, for acutely disturbed clients whose behaviour is difficult or challenging. We offer service users a holistic package of care including assessment and evaluation in a safe and comfortable environment.

We provide a service user orientated service which is supportive and individualised and that is delivered in a safe, secure and friendly environment. Our care approach is designed to promote recovery through solution focused interventions and user empowerment.

Care Pathway

Tyler Ward is part of our integrated male care pathway of services that includes Meridian Unit, our low secure unit and our 'step down' locked rehabilitation service at Cygnet Lodge Lewisham.

Therapy Services

On Tyler Ward we offer a full Therapy service, with daily groups and activities. Service users are encouraged to participate in these and although their attendance and participation in these groups is not compulsory they are seen by the Multi Disciplinary Team (consultant, ward doctor, nurses) as a vital part of care and treatment.

All the activities offered are aimed to facilitate expression and concentration, to offer relief from being in hospital and to relieve tension and boredom using a non-judgemental approach. Service users are encouraged to attend every planning meeting and at least one group of their choice per day.
