Hansa Ward is a 12 bedded specialist service for women with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour located within a female only hospital. It is designed for service users for whom mainstream provision cannot meet their needs. Services are delivered by a range of approaches, including uni-professional, multi-professional and multi-agency approaches, depending on the needs of the individual service user.

Our patient centred care ensures the values and needs of individual service users are integral to the service we deliver.
The care pathway supports and encourages service users to achieve positive personal outcomes, increase pro-social behaviours, reduce risk and improve access to the community. Treatment programmes facilitate skills development and is underpinned by the principles of cognitive behavioural, creative and psychodynamic therapy tailored to individual's intellectual functioning. The care pathway is supported by experienced and skilled multi-professionals including educational support, social work, psychology and occupational therapy.
Where appropriate we also work closely with Cygnet Supported Living to secure access to supported accommodation for our service users.
