Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist for Personality Disorder unit
Dr Cozzolino has a special interest in developmental psychiatry, particularly disorders of social cognition and attachment such as narcissistic and borderline personality disorders associated with challenging interpersonal behaviours. He is also Medical Director for Cygnet Hospital Beckton, taking an active role in clinical governance, CPD for medical staff and service improvement.
Dr E Akande, MB BS MRCPsych
Consultant Psychiatrist in Forensic Learning Disability Service
Dr Akande's areas of expertise includes working with learning disabled individuals, service users with learning disabilities with a history of offending behaviours and general acute psychiatry. She has extensive experience of working with the criminal justice system and ensuring the positive outcomes for service users. She has a specialist interest in working with people within the autistic spectrum.
Dr Ify Okocha, MB BS PhD MRCPsych
Consultant Psychiatrist for PICU
Dr Okocha is recognised nationally for achievement in Intensive Care and Low Secure Service delivery (NAPICU). He has extensive experience in various fields of mental health and has developed a range of services over the years in the NHS. He has demonstrated excellence in his leadership and management skills through his development of high quality innovative clinical services and implementation of evidence based clinical practice and research.
Dr Okocha was recently named as one of Britain’s most influential black people in the JP Morgan Power List for 2012. Dr. Okocha has been recognised for his work in mental health.
Dr R Taylor, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, BSc, MB BS, DFP, MRCPsych
Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist
Dr Taylor has worked in a range of forensic services in medium security, low security and in the community both in the NHS and the private sector. He has been involved in service developments for women including prison in-reach and in-patient work. He has extensive experience of liaison with the criminal justice system and the multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of complex needs. Cases includes, where psychosis, personality disorder and substance misuse all need to be addressed in an individual treatment and recovery plan. He also has an interest in ethics and confidentiality, Human Rights and Psychiatry, MAPPA and Multi-agency risk management.
