Care Pathways

We provide care that inspires hope and is driven by the use of the Recovery Star and Recovery approaches. Our care pathway supports personalisation, choice, skills development to regain independence, empowerment and self-directed responsibility. Care is person centred and tailored to the needs of the individual who works with the ward team on a partnership basis.

In addition to the pathway of female services available at Cygnet Hospital Beckton, the hospital is also part of a larger network of Cygnet hospitals. Depending on need, service users on Bewick Ward can be transferred to either the locked challenging behaviour or medium secure service at our sister unit Cygnet Hospital Stevenage.

Where appropriate we also work closely with Cygnet Supported Living to secure access to supported accommodation for service users.

Admission Criteria

• Service users who require structure and consistency to support their long term recovery
• Female age between 18-65 years
• Detained under the MHA or Informal status

Referrals

A patient assessment visit can be arranged quickly by either phoning or faxing a completed referral form. Referrers will be notified of decisions verbally and in writing within 72 hours. Download Referral Form.
