Training & Development

Cygnet aims to attract the best candidates, produce an environment that is conducive to our staff giving their very best and ensure they stay with us.

To do this we provide access to training and career development, recognise and reward good performance and we run an appraisal system that allows our employees to talk to managers about their performance.

Employees are encouraged to identify their own training needs linking them with current and future needs of the hospital. These training needs are recorded in the Personal Development plan held by every member of staff and updated regularly.

Induction

Good induction is a foundation stone of successful employment. We offer up to 13 weeks of induction which concludes with a record of completion.

Statutory Training

Staff are required to undertake all statutory training requirements: Manual Handling, Health & Safety, etc.

NVQs

Care Assistants are encouraged to complete NVQ 2 and 3 in Care during their employment. Successful completion of these qualifications is linked to salary progression.

Training Budget

Cygnet encourages career advancement by provision of a generous continuing education budget at each centre. Flexible rotas permit attendance at day release training schemes. Several nursing colleges use Cygnet’s facilities for training of nurses.
