Employee Benefits

We expect the best from our employees and we reward them accordingly with a wide variety of benefits.

Cygnet Contributory Pension Scheme

The scheme is administered by Friends Provident, a leading pension funds manager. It is a defined contribution scheme in which you contribute 1.0% of salary per month into the scheme and Cygnet contributes 3.5%. After 2 years’ scheme membership, if you increase your contribution to 2.0% the Cygnet contribution increases to 5.5%.

You can make additional voluntary contributions per month up to 15% of basic monthly salary. You become eligible after 3 months service providing you work 24 hours or more per week. Unlike NHS and other defined benefit schemes, the units in the Friends Provident account are owned by you and can be rolled over into other Inland Revenue qualified schemes.

Group Life Assurance Scheme

Cygnet has a Group Life Assurance Scheme underwritten by Sun Alliance Life Insurance. This provides a cash sum of twice the annual salary in the event of your death whilst in our service prior to the age of 65.

Revenue Share Scheme

Cygnet hospitals and nursing homes operate a Revenue Share Scheme whereby employees receive an annual bonus, the amount of which is dependent on how well the hospital/nursing home has achieved its target occupancy rates throughout the year.

Share Option Scheme

To reward Cygnet employees who have helped add value to the company and to incentivise them to remain with us, Cygnet awards them once or twice yearly with the option to purchase a number of company shares within between 3 and 10 years of the grant.

Childcare Vouchers

This scheme allows employees to save tax and NI payments on your child's nursery fees. The employee takes a contractual reduction in their gross salary up to a maximum of £55 per week, the child's nursery fees are then paid monthly by Cygnet direct to the nursery. As a standard rate tax payer electing to take £55 per week in childcare vouchers you can make a saving of up to £962pa. As a higher rate tax payer you can make a saving of up to £1,196pa.

Headhunting Bonus Scheme

Employees who recruit a friend to the company are entitled to a bonus payment of £400 for recruiting an RMN or RGN and £500 for recruiting a Junior Doctor(payable after six months if both persons are on the payroll)

Subsidised Meals

Employees on duty over the lunch-hour will receive subsidised meals in all our hospitals/nursing homes.
