Cygnet Health Care are delighted to announce a new development at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, our 57 bed low secure hospital near Weston-Super-Mare. The Lodge will be a 12-bedded male "step down" unit within the hospital grounds which will bridge the gap between hospital treatment and independent community living.
The Lodge will be part of the integrated care pathway at Kewstoke, allowing patients to move gradually from our low secure wards to the less restrictive environment provided there. The Lodge will also admit patients from external sources, for example PICU patients who require a longer stay in hospital but in a less restrictive environment, or those currently blocking beds on open acute wards who would benefit from an extended stay in a rehabilitation service.
Patients within the Lodge will also be able to access facilities within the main Hospital, such as the fully equipped gym, and may also continue with or start therapeutic programmes such as DBT.
The Lodge is due to open in February 2010. For more information on Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke please click here.
