Cygnet Hospital Godden Green celebrates 20th Anniversary with Gala Fun Day

Cygnet Hospital at Godden Green held a charity fund raising event on Saturday 4th July to order to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. Around 400 people attended the Gala Fun Day and helped towards raising money for the two chosen charities, Kent Air Ambulance and Demelza House Children's Hospice.

Gala Fun Day Hog Roast

Belly dancing, tribal dancing and judo displays all helped to entertain the visitors while either sitting in the sun eating hog roast or wandering around the craft stalls buying a range of different gifts. Children were entertained by maggot racing, having their faces painted and by learning to plate spin.

All the acts performing on the day gave their time up for free and the Hospital's food suppliers provided the food along with 35 raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

The day was a great success and raised just over £2000 for the chosen charities along with money raised at a local pub, The Rose and Crown, who for the past 8 weeks have been saving the profits from their quiz night to contribute to the fundraising. Of course, this hugely successful event would never have happened without the time and effort of all the staff who contributed.
