Dr Ify Okocha wins Medical Manager of the Year award
Cygnet Health Care is proud to announce Dr. Ify Okocha won the RCPsych Award 2009 for Medical Manager of the Year. This award is presented by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in recognition of an outstanding contribution to mental health.
Nine winners of the first annual RCPsych Awards were announced at a ceremony held on the 6th October at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.
Professor Dinesh Bhugra, president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, said: "We received hundreds of nominations and the judging panels were extremely impressed by the high standard of entries. I heartily congratulate the overall winners, as well as the excellent individuals and teams who were shortlisted for each category. Psychiatry does on occasion receive bad press, so it is hugely inspiring to recognise through the RCPsych Awards those examples of outstanding individuals and brilliant mental health services."
Dr Okocha has been a psychiatrist with practising privileges at Cygnet Hospital Beckton since October 1999 and is the Medical Director of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
