Cygnet Health Care launch Cygnet Supported Living

Cygnet Health Care is delighted to announce the launch of Cygnet Supported Living. Operating as a new division within the company, Cygnet Supported Living will provide a range of services for children and adults with mental health problems, learning disabilities, autism (including Asperger's Syndrome) and adults with complex special needs. These services include community supported living and outreach provision.

With the introduction of Cygnet Supported Living we are now able to offer an integrated care pathway, based on the Community Focused Recovery Model, which allows individuals who currently use our inpatient facilities to access a streamlined and simplified journey to supported living and greater independence within the community of their choice.

Community Focused Recovery will also help commissioners by reducing inappropriate lengths of stay in inpatient settings, especially secure care, which occur as a result of a lack of community based support and housing.

We will work in conjunction with a Registered Social Landlord to provide good quality affordable housing for people who are moving on from hospital based service provision.

The service will provide recovery based rehabilitation which will fulfill people's potential for independent living, with a strong emphasis on the promotion of autonomy and responsibility.

Cygnet Supported Living are currently providing services in central London and the North West and South West of England. Plans are underway to expand the service into Yorkshire and the North East of England within the next 12 months.

This exciting business will be headed up by Mark Ground, CFO of Cygnet Health Care, who has taken of the additional role of CEO of Cygnet Supported Living. We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Murphy as COO of Cygnet Supported Living. Brian brings with him a wealth of experience gained in the mental health and supported living sectors.
