Cygnet Health Hikers announce sponsored walk
We are delighted to announce that service users and staff from Cygnet Hospitals Wyke and Bierley and Cygnet Lodge Brighouse will be getting together to complete a 6 mile sponsored walk around Ogden Water. The sponsored walk will take place on Thursday 29th September. We are hoping to raise around £1,500 in aid of the the mental health charity Mind.
Our walking group, will consist of service users, therapy and nursing staff, including managers and heads of department. We are walking together not just to raise money but to promote involvement and the therapeutic relationship. Service users have been working closely with the therapy staff to build up to this event with a programme of regular walks. We recognise that not everyone has the same level of fitness, therefore we will also be organising two shorter walks around the reservoir on the same day, in order to include everyone.
It is important to note that this is not just a one off sponsored walk, but that service users and staff from different hospitals have been walking together and will continue to walk together to promote their mental health and physical well being.
