Cygnet Girlies raise nearly £1,000 for Cancer Research UK

Amy, Emma, Hannah, Karen and Nicky, aka The Cygnet Girlies, raised nearly £1,000 for Cancer Research UK by taking part in this year's City of London 'Race For Life'. The event, which took place on 31st May 2009, saw over 2,600 women run and walk the 5km course and in doing so raised over £829,000 for charity.

Amy, Hannah, Karen and Nicky ran the course in a very creditable 35 minutes. Emma, carrying the not insignificant burden of her unborn child, sensibly chose a more sedate pace and walked the course in just under an hour. Afterwards all agreed that the sunny weather, mixed with the fantastic vocal support from the crowd had helped make the event a particularly memorable one.

Congratulations to the Cygnet Girlies and all the other women who took part.
