5 May 2015: 'Boot Camp' day at Cygnet Hospital Derby
Recognising the importance of treating service users physical health and well being and not just addressing their mental health, Cygnet Hospital Derby recently held a 'Boot Camp' day to promote health and fitness awareness to the women on Alvaston Ward.
28 April 2015: Cygnet Hospital Harrow celebrates World Autism Awareness Week
From 30th March to 2nd April, Cygnet Hospital Harrow joined the National Autistic Society and many others in celebrating World Autism Awareness Week. Staff at the hospital organised a whole week of activities for both service users and staff to get involved in and to “Stand out for Autism”.
27 April 2015: PAD project sees 30% reduction in lengths of stay
Branwell Ward, Cygnet Hospital Wyke's acute inpatient service for men, has recently completed a six month pilot project, ‘Planning Appropriate Discharges’ (PAD). The project has been a resounding success having achieved a dramatic 30% reduction in the average length of stay from 29.6 days in the three months prior to the pilot to just 20.6 days during the six months that PAD has been implemented.
17 April 2015: Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke's Sandford Ward achieves 'Excellent' AIMS rating
We are delighted to announce that Sandford Ward, the adult acute inpatient service for men at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, has been given the Level 1 Excellent rating following AIMS accreditation with the College Centre for Quality Improvement (CCQI).
9 April 2015: Cygnet Hospital Bierley launches new 'Lunch and Chat' events for carers
Cygnet Hospital Bierley has recently launched a new initiative for carers called 'Lunch and Chat'. Through a series of quaterly events the aim of the initiative is to evaluate the ways in which Cygnet Hospital Bierley already engages with carers, and to look at various ways to better engage carers in service users’ care.
